A man who pointed a gun at Chicago police was fatally shot this
afternoon in the Park Manor neighborhood.
The shooting
happened at about 3:45 p.m. near the 6700 block of South Indiana Avenue.
Police officers were driving south on Indiana near an alley when
they spotted a man coming out of the alley with a gun in his hand.
After police pulled over they ordered the man to drop the gun but
the man began running down the alley and about midway the man turned and pointed
the weapon at the police.
The officers fired at the man,
fatally striking him
