A 6-year-old boy and his mother were killed and two other people injured this
evening in a multi-vehicle wreck on Lake Shore Drive in the Edgewater community.
The Chicago boy was pronounced dead at 6:21 p.m. at Lurie Children’s Hospital
after the crash. His
name and address were not being released yet tonight.
The child's mother was also killed
in the two-vehicle wreck that happened at 6:06 p.m. on Lake Shore Drive near
Montrose.
The crash caused the closure of LSD between
Hollywood and Foster Avenue.
Two other people were seriously injured in
the crash on southbound LSD.
One was taken to Weiss Memorial Hospital while two others
were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center
