A 21-year-old man was pronounced dead after the car he was driving struck a CTA
bus in a head on crash on the Northwest Side.
Jose Barrueta of the 2700 block of North Harding Avenue, was pronounced dead
at 10:32 a.m. at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
Barrueta had initially been listed in serious-to-critical condition after
being pinned in the 2009 Toyota Scion after the collision with the bus at West
Diversey Avenue and North Albany Avenue in the Logan Square neighborhood.
The accident happened at about 6 a.m. as Barrueta was traveling westbound
when he veered into the eastbound lane and struck the bus head on
