Two people were taken to a hospital in good condition today after a shooting
happened on the South Side near an elementary school.
The incident
happened on the 7200 block of South State Street at about 3 p.m..
Police said the incident stemmed from a possible robbery attempt near the
Deneen Elementary school, 7257 S. State St. but did not happen on school
property.
A 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his right hand and a
26-year-old man sustained an injury to his mouth, but was not shot
